Pranayama: Exploring the Subtle Body

“As breath stills our mind, our energies are free to unhook from the senses and bend inward,” BKS Iyengar

This workshop begins with restorative asanas to quiet the body and nervous system, creating an optimal foundation for exploring the energetic dimension of yoga through pranayama. Using breath as our primary tool, we’ll work with the subtle body, the network of energy channels (nadis), centers (chakras), layers of being (koshas), and the five vayus (directional flows of prana).

BKS Iyengar taught that pranayama serves as a bridge between body and consciousness. Through guided breathwork practices, we’ll cultivate sensitivity to prana and learn how different techniques influence our energy, mind, and state of being.

Suitable for students with a regular yoga practice who are curious about the inner dimensions of the tradition. Come ready to breathe, and turn your attention inward.
