Joshua Tree Yoga Retreat

Join Koren for this Joshua Tree yoga retreat, four days of rejuvenating and transformational Iyengar yoga, meditation, pranayama, and sutra studies. Our retreat center, Cactus Moon, is a boutique desert sanctuary located near Joshua Tree National Park, just a two-hour drive from Los Angeles. If you’re flying in, Palm Springs Airport is closest, or you can use Ontario/San Bernardino Airport.

The retreat center is a mid-century modern paradise, with each room uniquely decorated and named. Relax in the outdoor saltwater soaking pool after your practice. Please note that there is only one of each room available; however, rooms can be shared by two or three people.

Enjoy two daily yoga classes taught by Koren, who brings over 30 years of teaching experience and the depth of a Senior Iyengar Teacher to every session. Having studied therapeutically with BKS Iyengar and his daughter Geeta in Pune, India for nearly a decade, she draws on this profound lineage to address each student’s unique needs with precision, patience, and genuine care, whether you’re healing an injury, deepening an established practice, or beginning your yoga journey. You’ll receive expert attention that transforms how you move and feel in your body.

There will be ample time to explore walking trails directly from the property or visit Black Rock Nature Center. It’s a half-mile walk into hipster downtown Yucca Valley, featuring boutiques, vintage clothing, household treasures, and a record store.
During the retreat, you’ll enjoy elegant accommodations and delicious vegetarian cuisine. There’s an outdoor gas grill available if you’d like to bring your own protein.

Sign up now to deepen your yoga practice and revitalize yourself with this perfect fall desert getaway.

Local Culture & Adventure

Downtown Yucca Valley
Just a short walk from the retreat, downtown Yucca Valley surprises with its quirky, creative energy. Browse vintage shops and local art galleries, grab organic coffee at indie cafés, explore metaphysical bookstores and handmade jewelry boutiques. This isn’t touristy Joshua Tree, it’s the real desert town where artists, healers, and free spirits have created something genuinely cool.

Desert Trail Adventures
Joshua Tree’s iconic landscape lies just beyond the property. Explore hiking trails that wind through massive boulder formations, ancient Joshua tree groves, and vast open desert where silence feels almost audible. Whether you venture out solo or with fellow retreaters, the desert’s stark beauty and spaciousness invite quiet reflection and a sense of awe.

Desert X Art Installations
Discover world-class contemporary art scattered across the desert landscape through Desert X, a recurring large-scale exhibition that transforms the Coachella Valley into an open-air museum. Site-specific installations by internationally renowned artists appear throughout the region, some near Joshua Tree, others along scenic desert routes. The installations change with each exhibition and locations vary, but the experience is always extraordinary: art that responds to the desert’s vastness, climate, and cultural history in thought-provoking ways. Check current locations and plan your own art adventure.
