Conscious Grieving®: Using Yoga to Get Through the Holidays

Surviving the loss or death of a loved one poses one of life’s most profound challenges. It’s a deeply personal and emotional journey that can feel overwhelming, isolating, and endless—one that many of us would do anything to avoid. Yet when we meet grief consciously, with support, compassion, and skillful practices, intense growth and remarkable personal transformation become possible.

At this workshop, we’ll practice gentle, grief-specific yoga poses designed to facilitate the process of letting go while honoring those who have left us. These aren’t typical yoga classes—the poses are carefully chosen to help release what the body holds, create space for what needs to move through you, and honor the love that remains.

In a compassionate and safe environment, we’ll address what makes the holiday season so difficult when someone is missing—the empty chair at gatherings, the traditions that feel impossible to continue, the pressure to be festive when your heart is heavy. Together we’ll explore healthy coping strategies for navigating this emotionally charged time of year.

As one year closes and another begins, we’ll gently discuss how the turning of the calendar can become an opportunity for embracing change and welcoming new beginnings, not as a way to “move on” from your loss, but as a threshold for carrying your loved one’s memory forward into whatever comes next. This happens at your own pace, in your own time, with no pressure to be anywhere other than exactly where you are.

You’ll leave with practices to support your ongoing grief journey and perhaps a deeper sense that you don’t have to carry this alone.
