Arrival & Departure information?
Check-in is at 3:00 p.m on Friday May 22th and there will be a restorative class at 5:00 p.m. The last class ends on Friday May 29 at 10:00 a.m. and check out is at 10:30 a.m. Hawaii Island Retreat may be booked before and after our stay so please call ahead (808.889.6336) if you would like to stay any additional dates. Discounted rates are available since you are part of the retreat.
Are airfare and airport transfers included in the price of this vacation in Hawaii?
No, they are not. Here are your options for airport transfers: Speedy Shuttle Service ([email protected]), taxi (Kona, Airport or Aloha) or car rental (gives you freedom to explore on your own). It’s 50 miles along the coast to the retreat center. Parking is free!

What about food?
Hawaii Island Retreat’s organic farm and orchards are a living tribute to the Big Island’s bounty of exotic vegetables and fruits. They grow the foods used in their hotel kitchen, from salad greens to lychee and sunrise papaya. There is clean food at every meal.
What is the cuisine like?
You will enjoy organic farm-to-table cuisine featuring a menu rich with local accents, whole-grain breads, Pacific Rim dishes, and international menus.
What if I’m traveling alone?
If you prefer to share your room, I will do my best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. Before the retreat begins I will provide arrival times & rideshare information from the airport.
How close is the nearest beach?
The retreat is located on cliffs overlooking the ocean. The nearest sandy beach is 30 minutes away. It is also the most beautiful beach on the island.
Would you like a massage?
As a group participant you are entitled to 15% off of all spa services. You can schedule before to assure you get a time you want or wait until you arrive.
Do I need to bring yoga props or books?
Everyone will be provided with a bolster, mat, strap, block and chair. If you are interested in participating in the philosophy classes you may want to bring a copy of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
Is there wifi?
Wifi is available in the library, lobby, pool area, etc. Wifi is free.
Are gratuities included?
Porterage charges have been established at $3.00 per bag each way. This charge shall be billed to individual guest rooms.
Housekeeping gratuity is a suggested amount is $3 per room per day and can also be charged to your individual account.
